Our Programs

Welcome Mamitas supports new and expecting migrant mothers living in NYC’s temporary shelters. We create a safe, nurturing community where women far from home can find guidance, strength, and dignity during one of life’s most vulnerable moments.

We host “Birthing Circles” or warm, welcoming monthly gatherings led in Spanish by professional doulas. These circles offer more than information; they offer belonging, reassurance, and hope. Every gathering also offers a hot meal, activities for older children, and a free boutique of essential baby and maternity items, ensuring that no mother goes without the basics she needs to care for herself and her child.

Familia Flourish (FFBB), created in partnership with The Birthing Place Foundation, helps new BIPOC families thrive by addressing one of the most overlooked challenges of early parenthood: postpartum emotional well-being. By pairing expert lactation support with thoughtful mental-health screenings, we work to reduce postpartum mood disorders and ensure parents feel supported and confident.

Hosted at Maryam Reproductive Health & Wellness, our program offers prenatal lactation education, breastfeeding support groups, and individualized lactation and mental-health screenings—all in a warm, culturally attuned setting.

El Nido de Esperanza offers holistic family support to nurture the social, emotional, and developmental well-being of vulnerable babies and their families throughout the critical first 1,000 days of life.

DES doulas provide prenatal and postpartum sessions, lactation consults, and educational offerings to participants of El Nido’s programs, in close collaboration with each family’s social worker. This coordinated, wraparound approach strengthens birth and postpartum outcomes while creating the conditions for truly beautiful and empowering early parenting experiences.

We believe every person deserves the guidance of a qualified professional doula and the chance to experience a birth that is dignified and fully supported—no matter their financial circumstances. To make this a reality, we offer scholarships for birth support services to pregnant women facing economic hardship, including those who are Afro-Latina or Indigenous, single or teenage parents, undocumented, unemployed, or Medicaid recipients.

Our scholarships are tailored to each family’s unique needs, ensuring that every parent receives the level of doula care that will help them feel safe, empowered, and truly supported throughout their birthing journey.
